Annabelle: Creation is a prequel to Annabelle which itself is a prequel to The Conjuring. Samuel Mullins (Anthony LaPaglia) and his wife have a lovely young daughter. He has just started a limited run of dolls which he is planning on selling to exclusive toy companies. The first doll has just been finished with ninety nine more to follow in the series. After attending church the family gets a flat tire. While changing it Samuel’s daughter is accidentally killed in a terrible accident that forever changes their lives.
Twelve years later Samuel Mullins and his secluded wife turn the home into an orphanage for abandoned girls. They begin to explore the house when one of the children goes into a room which holds the titular doll. Janice (Talitha Eliana Bateman) has had a rough go of it. She had a bad case of polio which left her with a pronounced limp. The evil spirit within the doll Annabelle begins to stalk Janice until her condition becomes even worse. The doll pursues the children of the house in search of their souls while the family remains in denial about the sanctity of their home. Janice takes the brunt of it as horrible events play out.
Annabelle: Creation is truly spooky and has some great jump scares. It is a vast improvement over the first Annabelle movie. See it.
