Review:
Stephanie (Jill Schoelen) is a teenage degenerate. She has been expelled from school for fighting and treats her stepfather Jerry (Terry O’Quinn) like garbage. Her father died last year and her mother remarried almost immediately. Stephanie hasn’t taken it well. Stephanie gets strange vibes from Jerry and tells her therapist about him. Things get even stranger when she sees him go into a psychotic rage in the basement over a misplaced item. After, a story runs in the local paper about a murder of another family he freaks out. That is because he committed the murders.
Stephanie begins to suspect that Jerry is that murderer. At the same time, the victim’s brother continues to quest for him to be found. Everyone save Stephanie’s mother begins to feel like Jerry might not be the man he has made himself out to be. With some added pressure Jerry begins to slip up and form a trail that could be lead back to him. The movie isn’t particularly scary in any way, but Terry O’Quinn gives a good performance in the leading role. He chews scenery well and does a nice job as the raging lunatic that his character is at heart.
Verdict:
The movie is worth watching for O’Quinn’s creepy performance. See it.
Tomorrow’s Movie: Johnny English (2003)
