Review:
The Last Heist opens with a crew about to knock over a bank branch. The branch is in the process of being shutdown and customers are picking up their security boxes. Entering at the same time is our lead character Bernard played by my spirit animal Henry Rollins. Bernard is a natural born serial killer that likes to cut out his victims’ eyes.
The story quickly goes to hell. One of the robbers has a brother that works at the bank. The robber immediately takes off his mask and practically has a tell all with the brother in front of his crew. The robbers are completely inept in every way. The acting is very poor from literally everyone in the cast except of course for Rollins who plays a mechanical man in every regard. Unfortunately, his screen time is very limited.
The Last Heist was clearly made on a shoe string budget. Its special effects are cheesy, its set design, costuming, and knowledge of even basic banking practices is pretty much non-existent. It is a B-movie in every regard and in this case not a good one.
Verdict:
I watched The Last Heist solely because Henry Rollins was in it. He was great, but the movie is lousy. There is no reason for anyone that is not a Henry Rollins fan to watch it. Skip it.
